Dashboard Design

The Heritage Group

The Problem.

The company needed an all-inclusive employee-operated portal & databasing system that would allow 3 different types of “sample collection” services and industries to enter information on-the-go in a more efficient manner.

The Solution.

A dashboard built with React that could be accessible from mobile devices without any loss of data entry capabilities. This also included the dashboard and pairings with multiple types of entry forms that had to connect to a variety of backend systems that were crucial to business operations.

The dashboard had to be built a way that could allow for extensive indexing of key terms like types of samples, biohazard ratings & what type of elemental state a sample was in. Further development also included the ability to make connections between testing/tested samples and end results of the testing to categorize the best way to dispose of different substances.

My Role.

As the sole designer on this project, I attended important stakeholder meetings at the beginning of this project to learn more about how samples were connected, who would be entering them, the type of data that had to be collected & what key usability constraints there was on the original portal.

While this was largely a custom web development effort built with React and other technologies, I was responsible for the entire look and feel, design system & initial workflow creation for the dashboard, data collection experience & visual read out of information.
